We are pleased and happy that you are visiting our web site.  Memorial Christian Church is a wonderful place with wonderful people.  We welcome everyone to worship, fellowship, and work with us as we proclaim the Good News message of Jesus Christ to the community and world.  If you do not have a church home and need a place of ministry to use the resources that God has blessed you with, we hope you will consider Memorial Christian Church in 2009.

We are beginning our third year as your pastors and we have cause to marvel at the many activities and programs that have happened over the last two years.  Spiritual growth has been phenomenal.   We did some landscaping, placed new heat pumps in the sanctuary and educational building, and moved the Church office to the main floor and made it more convenient for all to access.  Together we have ministered through many programs including, but not limited to, more variety in worship, cantatas, VBSs, outreach programs that fed, clothed and assisted many, youth programs, prayer shawl ministry to those in the hospitals, and so many more.  We have been very busy for our Lord.  But more than keeping us busy, these ministries have allowed us to be closer as the Family of God.  As your pastors we are pleased to be a part of this wonderful family.

However, we cannot live on what is past, nor can we survive by just remembering.  We must be like the Apostle Paul in his “forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead…(to) press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3: 13b-14).  Helen Mallicoat says it well in her poem “I AM”.

I AM

I was regretting the past and fearing the future.
Suddenly my Lord was speaking, “My name is I AM.”
He paused.  I waited.  He continued…
“When you live in the past with its mistakes and regrets, it is hard.
I am not there.  My name is not I WAS.
When you live in the future with its problems and fears, it is hard.
I am not there.  My name is not I WILL BE.
When you live in the moment, it is NOT hard.
I am here.  My name is I AM.”

Here, now is where we are.  We rejoice in serving God through Jesus Christ.  Our message is the Good News that Jesus is ‘the way, the truth, life’, and we want to spread the Good News to all.  We are excited to be messengers for Him and invite all to come and join us as we reach out to love, honor, and praise God, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
